Located on the edge of the conservation area of Fenwick, within the commuter belt of Glasgow, the site is just a short walk from Main Street, the site has been developed for a speculative house-builder with large, luxury homes. The buildings are designed to be in keeping with the surrounding buildings by respecting the material palette of the existing buildings which are predominantly render and stone.
The houses are split between a crescent of houses on a new road within the site and a row facing out onto the existing road. The 18 houses facing the road are joined together with feature walls and gateways to give a unified street frontage and enhance the village-like feel.
Whilst the exteriors are designed to reflect the traditional architecture of the village, the internal layouts feature large open-plan kitchen/dining rooms and patio doors open out onto the large rear gardens, meeting the expectations of the modern executive home. Work has completed on site and the houses are sold and being occupied.
