We worked for a developer who purchased these two large, flatted buildings in Glasgow, designed in the 1930’s in the Art Deco style, but having been somewhat unloved in the 80 years since first built. There were significant original internal features such as handrails and light fittings which were retained and upgraded and the whole building was extensively refurbished including new windows and upgraded insulation. A rooftop extension was also added, comprising of two large penthouses in each building. This extension was only allowed by planning by ensuring that the ridge height was unaffected and so the total height of the building was unchanged.
